Text Driving is Only the Beginning

Now a days more cars, SUV’s and everything in between are being made with more technology.  Texting while driving is only the beginning.  Several years ago new cars used to come with the bar bones of equipment and gadgets.  But if you look at cars now and all of the USB connectors for ipods and mp3’s.  You can see that more vehicles are coming standard with GPS systems and navigation devices. Many vehicles are even wi-fi ready, so you pull out of the car lot as a mobile network.

More Tech, More Gadgets Less Driving

The younger drivers are welcoming the technology, many of the older drivers can do without it.  I personally say bring it on.  My car is already like my office.  Let me hook my laptop to the dash board and turn the car into surf city. Vroom Vroom! (FYI that’s a joke)

It’s all about convenience and speed.  But we really do have to be safer with how convenient we can become.  Please no texting and driving, pull over or wait until you get to your destination.

A sweltering 97 degree’s and that’s if you’re standing in the shade.

But don’t worry about the heat this evening, you can take a couple of our off of the sun and take a dip into the pool. That’s right, IT’S POOL PARTY TIME!!!

Our Pool Party is this evening from 5 o’clock until 8 o’clock P.M.

There will be food and drinks available.  We’ll all be treated like royalty while Stellar Catering serves us from their professional tasting food selections.

There are many things that can help to make the pool party fun but the best thing is you.  This is for all of you, our residents here at Americana Lakewood Apartments in Lakewood, Colorado.  Feel free to socialize with residents that you are familiar with and meet and greet neighbors who are new to you.  The stage is set the pool is wet and the food is ready to eat… So Come And Get It!

To be relaxed is to be at a less stresses or tense state.

Big Brother Point Guard for Denver Nuggets & Little Brother Director of Basketball Operations for University of Colorado

The University of Colorado is pleased to announce that Rodney Billups, younger brother of starring point guard for the Denver Nuggets, Chancey Billups, was hired in as official Director of Basketball Operations.

R. Billups played three seasons at the University of Denver before he went overseas for two years to play basketball on a professional level.

Chauncey says, “I’m so proud of him.  He had a great basketball career in his own right and now he’s going to do a great job at Colorado University.”

It’s always good to see brothers doing positive things that open doors for younger men and women to see a better way of obtaining success.

The Choice is your so Choose Wisely:  Career or Job

It’s important to know what career path you want to take in life.  With so many different choices and positions to work now-a-days you’ve got to make a solid decision.  None of us can afford to just go with the flow with life choices and career paths.

You can’t settle for the cheap route because of fear.  You’ve got to know that you do have a choice.  If you’re looking for a job have you ever cosidered pursuing a career?

The Difference Between a Career and a Job

A Job is simply an activity that you perform on a regular basis in exchange for a payment of some sort, most of the time it is for monetary compensation.  By no means am I bashing a job or being employed in one.  But WE would like to present a clear enough picture for you to realize your options.

A Career on the other hand is a chosen path; a profession or occupation that you have on purpose chosen to perform.  This path of progression over one’s working adult life illustrates the general achievements of ones adult hood over a period of time.

The major difference in a job or career is in what you think
If you are thinking long-term then you will go after the career but if you are thinking just right now then you’ll be applying for jobs.  The choice has always been yours, you just may have not fully realized it.

While you are studying in your major or using your current job as a stepping stone think long-term.  What do you see yourself doing when you have a wife and children?  If it’s not what you are currently doing or pursuing then make the proper adjustments and begin from this day to pursue your career on purpose.

Have you chosen your career yet?

When was the last time that you though about how you could save money?  Probably earlier today, right?

Well saving money isn’t something that happens by accident we have to do it on purpose for a purpose.

One common mistake that many people believe is that the greatest way to save money is to make more if it.  While bringing in more money is a great way to have more to save, we also have to be aware of how much we are how we are spending our money.

Shine from Yahoo! posted a great article on Saving Money by Saving Energy.   This article shared some very helpful tips that you can begin to implement as soon as today.  Below are some of my favorite:

• Wash only full loads in the dishwasher and let the dishes air dry.  Most of the time I just use the dishwasher as a place to dry my dishes after I’ve hand dried them.
• Use cold water when washing your clothes.  Most of the clothes that are washed in the washing machine will come out just as clean with cold water.  The hotter the temperature the more energy that is being used.
• Any appliances that are plugged in will use some energy even if you are not using them.  When you computer is on and it’s not in operation at least turn it to sleep mode.

These are a few things that I have been doing lately.  I haven’t received my latest energy bill but I am certain that it has come down a good bit.  Another thing you can do is to call your local energy company and ask them if they have any offers and see if it would be more cost effective to switch to a fixed rate of flex pay rate.  Here is another resource that many people may not be aware of: Energy Outreach Colorado, Helping All Coloradans Afford Home Energy.

There is always something to do in Colorado.  Sometimes I like to just sit and stair at the mountains.  They can be very relaxing.  You can get out with your special friend this weekend and have some Japanese food over at Kobe An’s.
